Sainted Zosima, Bishop of Syracuse Commemorated on March 30 Sainted Zosima,
Bishop of Syracuse, was born through the fervent prayers of his parents,
who were long without children. When their son reached seven years of age, his
parents sent him for education to a monastery, where the holy ascetic at the
age of maturity took monastic vows and for forty years governed the monastery.
